Class description: The workout combines cardio, Pilates, isometric movements and plyometrics with constant simulated drumming—all to loud, kick-ass music.

Adding the core-engaging element of drumming to dynamic, full-body movements increases caloric burn, improves precision and thoroughly targets all the large and supporting muscle groups in the body.

Looking for an alternative to your stale workout routine? Try our latest combination of cardio, pilates, isometric and plyometric exercises, paired with rock-out worthy music that keeps you from stopping. Target large muscle groups in your body through this intense workout that seems like you’re pounding on a drum, keeping you on your toes the entire time. 

What makes Pound unique from other workouts is that it uses your own movement and bodyweight to burn down your calories. The exercise focuses on the lower body and core but it’s hearty enough to affect other muscle groups, too. In sync with the music, you’ll be swinging our own version of drumsticks which are Ripstix, used mainly for resistance and weight. So raise your Ripstix in the air to sculpt those muscles!

After an hour, you’ll walk out of this class feeling victorious because your whole body will be buzzing from the endorphin rush. Good thing you only need your water bottle to keep up because your fiery determination will do the rest for you. Let loose and metaphorically be a drummer for an hour every Friday at 4:00 pm at Pretty Huge Obstacles!
